Welcome

Hello and thanks so much for stopping by. My name is Jim Day and I've been a professional web developer and designer for six or seven years now. Please take a look around, browse some of my work, and make sure to let me know if you'd like to collaborate on a project. I'm currently interested in taking on search engine optimization, blog, content development, and minor design projects.

Some of the companies I've had the pleasure of working with include:

Despite the freak tornado that ripped through downtown Atlanta last weekend, I'm happy to report that Jake and I are still alive and kicking. My street didn't really get hit all that hard, but one of my favorite neighborhoods in the area, Cabbagetown, got absolutely slammed. Multiple houses were completely destroyed and a historic loft building partially collapsed. Cleanup efforts are still underway, but they are making great progress - most streets have been reopened and as far as I can tell, most of the broken windows have been boarded up.

In other news, I FINALLY paid off my student loan in full a few weeks ago and I cannot tell you how ecstatic I am about that. I've been using Dave Ramsey's "debt snowball" approach in which you pay off your smallest debts first and then channel the money you were paying into them into your larger debts...it's been working like a dream for me. In fact, I only have about $3,000 left on a credit card that will be paid off shortly and then I'm debt-free other than my house and car. At that point, I'm going to start maxing out my Roth IRA and begin saving everything left over. Retirement at 55 isn't looking like such a pipe dream after all...
